Night To Shine

The Tim Tebow Foundation has a great passion for people with special needs, and in 2014 they launched “Night to Shine.” The vision was simple… work with churches around the country to provide an incredible prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs, ages 16 and older.

This past February, 44 churches and 15,000 volunteers came together on one night, celebrating 7,000 honored guests with special needs. This unforgettable prom night experience changed Valentine’s Day weekend from simply a celebration of love, to a celebration of God’s love, people with special needs and the value of life. This year they will continue expanding this ministry into a worldwide movement that allows people with special needs to shine, churches to shine, volunteers to shine, and most importantly, Christ to shine.

We are thrilled that we get to be a part of this movement and offer a Night To Shine here at Christ Community Church! From watching the promotional videos to hearing Tim Tebow speak about this wonderful event, we gained just as much excitement to want this kind of event to happen here in Lake Charles, LA.

Hot Hearts

Hot Hearts

Since the very beginning, the aim of Hot Hearts has been to impact the lives of students with the gospel message. Because Hot Hearts is led and organized by men and women who are passionate about working with students, the event is geared toward a younger crowd and strives to connect with students in relevant ways.

Students can expect a high-energy weekend on the level of many mainstream events held in larger cities, with professional production values in sound, lighting and video. Hot Hearts is also known for combining the messages of the most effective student communicators with performances from some of the most popular Christian music artists.

The event has grown and transformed over the years, but the vision of Hot Hearts remains the same - to ignite a passion for Jesus Christ in the hearts of younger generations.

LCGYF State Youth Convention

LCGYF State Youth Convention

Each November our youth travel to somewhere in Louisiana to join with the other Church of God-Anderson, IN youth groups in Louisiana. This year we are headed to Lafayette, LA and are excited to join with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Convention is designed to revitalize our youth! School started up since camp and we want to re-energize them to keep pushing and striving for the plans that God has in their lives. Convention is a high-impact event that allows our students to be hands-on in ministry as we focus on one mission opportunity and all of our youth groups participate. There will be music, speaking, small groups, afternoon activities, night activities, and fellowship together.

Convention is a great opportunity for growth and we push that every youth be a part of it! We want to see our students grow closer to God and see Him reign in their lives. This is a great opportunity for students to begin that relationship, renew their relationship with God, and grow closer to Him! Don't miss out!

MACU Mash

  • Mid-America Christian University (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Juniors and Seniors, this is a trip for you to Oklahoma City, OK to check out Mid-America Christian University. Pastor Rick and Pastor Cameron both graduated from MACU (as well as their wives) and would love for you to experience the college for yourself.

This is a weekend packed full of things to do to get to know the ins-and-outs of the school. You'll get to checkout the campus, live in the dorms, eat from the cafeteria they have, check out some of the classes, attend a Chapel service that happens twice a week, and the school has events set up for you to take part in as well.

Not only that, for each time you visit, you will get a $500 scholarship (per semester) towards your tuition if you attend MACU. So you're looking at $2000 a year off tuition if you attend your Junior and Senior year of high school.

You may have no interest in the school, but this is a great place to at least visit and experience. Never limit yourself and never limit what God may have planned for you. You never know...this may be the place for you and you just don't know it yet!

See You At The Pole Rally

See You At The Pole Rally

See You At The Pole is a well-known event that happens across the nation in public and private schools. Students show up early on a Wednesday morning and circle around the flagpole to pray for the school, students, teachers and our nation.

Transformed Student Ministries here at Christ Community Church gathers with other churches in the area and we host a SYATP Rally at Gateway Church of God in Moss Bluff. We will have an actual worship service together and then have one of the Youth Pastors or a special guest come and speak to the students.

Not only are we praying for the nations school system and as a whole, but we pray for Lake Charles specifically and building unity between churches so that we can unite together in Spiritual Warfare. So that we're all focused on God and bringing His kingdom to Lake Charles and to the earth.

If you haven't been a part of this event, you need to mark it on your calendars and come out. We'd love to have you and worship alongside you!

Slop Fest

Slop Fest is such a fun, amazing and wet event! This is our version of "water wars" and we get together here at the church and just get soaked. We will have events such as Soggy Kickball, Slip-N-Slide Bowling, Slippery Duck-Duck-Goose, and a ton of other games! This is a great event to invite your friends to!

Our Children's Ministry will be meeting in Moss Lake for a fun day and so we've partnered with them to give our Teens something to do as well! So drop the teens off here at the church and take your children down to Moss Lake. For more information about the Moss Lake Kid's day, contact Pastor Steve Hardesty at: stevehardesty@ccclc.info or call the church at 478-8228.

Talk to any of our Teens about Slop Fest and they'll tell you it's a blast and that all Teens should make their way over to the church for Slop Fest!

Sunday Night Live

Transformed Student Ministries here at Christ Community Church as well as Gateway Church of God and Westlake Church of God get together each month, throughout the school year, for an event called Sunday Night Live.

Sunday Night Live is an evening retreat that started with these three churches. SNL is a monthly event for our students to look forward to. Something that draws them into the youth group and ultimately into the church. It's easy to let a few months fade by and not have an event scheduled and so SNL is there to make sure that our students are interacting together once a month in a bigger venue than our youth rooms.

There is music, speaking, games, and fellowship that take place. Sometimes it is switched up and we'll do something different (i.e. for Christmas we did a huge white elephant gift exchange). We just want our students to know that there are more than the students in our youth groups that are fighting the same battles. They may even go to your schools and you didn't know they went to church or believed in God. It's an eye-opening experience to see student's say, "Woah! I didn't know you went to church there!" It's great because they now know they've got a buddy to fight alongside with.

We also switch things up by hosting SNL at different churches each month. So make sure you're in tune with where it's going to be because we don't want you to miss out!
